Greetings from Pugetopolis!!

Coming to you at the start of a rare sunny Spring day on Puget Sound. I ran across your excellent forum while researching eBook readers, and having just fired off my order for a Cybook Gen 3, thought I'd sign up and take further advantage of the amassed knowledge and experience here. And have some fun. And make a few new friends.

I hadn't thought much about e-books, not being especially techie (never mind that I spend 80% of my waking hours on computers); but while cruising StumbleUpon, I happened upon the hoopla for the new Kindle, and started thinking what it would be like to go on vacation without hauling along an extra suitcase just for books. The whole process has been rather mind-numbing, but after an opportunity to compare the 2 Sony models in person, I got down to a priority list, that ended up at the Cybook for its capability of adding my own fonts, and more text-sizing options.

So, I'm looking forward to getting acquainted and learning lots about the ins-and-outs of ebooks.

Oh ... and I just mention that my first novel is in final rewrite, and due to self-publish any day now ... I could well make it a free e-book for my friends!

Hello and welcome! You'll need to go on vacation right away with your new device. It is the most fantastic thing to be able to carry tons and tons of books without the weight.

yaaay! a sunny day in Puget sound! I know how rare that can be, having spend a good part of my life in that area (before moving to the much more frequently sunny Az and, finally, to Hawai'i) I actually liked the less sunny locations better. Sun is not my friend!

In any case, welcome to the board! I am definitely not a techie either, but I have learned a lot here. baby steps....

I'm also going to give you a few cheers for the sunny day. I spent many happy times in the Seattle area - oppositeland of where I live in always sunny and warm (or HOT) AZ!
