Seriousness Price of a passport?

How much do passports cost in other countries, as a matter of interest? I've just needed to renew mine here in the UK (ours are valid for 10 years) and was quite shocked to discover that the cost is now £72 (US$110). I think the last time I renewed my passport it was about £30!

I think mine was around $100 USD. It's been a while since I got mine. Ours are valid for 7 years, I believe. But I could be wrong.

It depends on your municipality.

There is a maximum of 42 euro for an ID card or 50 euro (about 45 pounds or 68 US dollar) for a passport. It is valid for 5 years.

So, the same price I'd say (considering ours cost half a s much but is also only valid half as long)

the new biometric passeports in france cost 88€ for an adult (valid 10 years). but, to travel within the EU, i believe you only need your identity card, which is free.

Which makes me so mad because I didn't get a stamp in Italy or France when I was there, since I was traveling within the EU

i know, i hate that too !! sometimes i try to ask specifically for a stamp but my poor passport is sadly quite bare with very few stamps in it.

In Australia, new or renewal (for 10 years) costs AUS$208.

In one passport I got a stamp of East Germany and a stamp (rather, a whole page!) of the US. In my previous passport I had a stamp of India.

Those are all the stamps I've ever collected... Most countries don't even have a border anymore where you can get a stamp...

Here in Canada around $100.00 =87.00 +pic mailing blah blah blah and you *might get it by your next birthday

US is good for 10 years. It may be less if the person is under 18.

Passports are $75US and Passport cards are $20US.

I'm just renewing my 10yr British passport via the consulate here in Spain, at a cost of I think 150 Euro, you have to pay by credit card, (which at today's rate is c £135 gbp) you can only renew in the UK if you are there for the whole time the process takes.

Another example of Nu-liebour ripping off us ex pat's

They have only been out for a few years. It's a card the same size as a driver's license and currently is only good for land and sea travel within US, Mexico and Carribean (maybe Canada as well).

I had to renew late last year and used it a few times during my last holiday. I think it's a little too restrictive for people to bother.
