6.0?

I have seen the new version 5.12 today and as much as I like your persistent work of amelioration, I was a little bit downcast. I have been anticipating the 6.0 version so much because I have hundreds of older Aportis book files on my external Harddisk waiting to be converted to ePub. As I heard that the new version will support the import of that format, I was ecstatic! Please bring 6.0 as fast as you can, Kovid!

0.6 will be released when it is ready. There are still a few more things that need to be completed. Also, it will not be released until after Kovid's Thesis defense. Expect a beta around the end of this month beginning of next.

Hmm...don't put any expectations to when Kovid is "supposed" to defend his dissertation. Don't jinx it. I know how doctoral candidates hate it when they're told when they're supposed to submit/defend etc. ;-) Let them decide.

I'm defending on May 22nd and I'm not superstituous

In any case, since all the work in my thesis has already been published in various papers, I expect the defence to be a formality.

Yeah, you can read my papers by going to arxiv.org and searching for my name. But you should probably wait until my thesis is published, it's written to be more accessible than the papers

Yes, but with 0.6 you can convert it to EPUB or MOBI and it should still come out nice, yeah?

Nope, makes extensive use of vector diagrams. I actually could probably have written it in EPUB to start with, but that would have taken too long, since the tools for writing math/making vector illustrations in svg are not there yet, I would probably have had to create them.
