Free on Kindle: "Crossroads: Navigating Your Calling and Career"
![]() Book Description Graduating college. Landing that first job. Considering a job change-or even a career change. When we find ourselves at such crossroads, it is important to stop and reflect before taking the next step. In Crossroads, author Colin Creel seeks to navigate the murky waters of career and calling by looking at the biblical view of calling, recognizing that each of us is here for a reason, and offering practical guidelines on seizing career opportunities. In addition to the author's thoughts, readers will encounter advice from leaders in business, Christian ministry, the arts, and education. Each chapter's "Points to Ponder" encourage readers to go deeper in their thoughts and discussions on the subject of calling and career. Readers are reminded that none of us is here by accident, and there are no accidental occupations. Everyone must pursue the talents and gifts God has afforded them. With original insights from Christian leaders like Josh McDowell, Steve Arterburn, Max Lucado, Tammy Trent, Mark Price, and others. Karen Books on the Knob |

Ugh, why do all of these free self-help books have a Christian twist?

Or perhaps are more helpful to others?
![]() Most likely they feel more compelled to help (we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and don't feel they have a lot to make up for. One could even make the case they are the few amongst the self-help genre to feel they should help you at no charge and perhaps have a more altruistic motive (except that free books == higher sales, if the author and book are any good). I think this is the third free book in the last few months that has had Max Lucado as a contributor, though. |

To be serious, it's because there is a built in audience. A Christian based self help book will sell much more than a normal no affiliation self help book.
