Google edits out page - Millennium Copyright Act (MCA)
Interesting: I just did a Google search and came up with this at the bottom of my screen. This is the first time I can remember seeing this item, quoted below:
"In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org." Comments and thoughts? Don |

that's the canned response I think when google removes any sites from the database, either from child porn, to Illegal download sites. I find it pretty rare when I see one of those. I believe that they are bad things. ive never heard anyone complain that google removed their site due to a notice. so they are truly the worst sites that are romoved, such as animal porn and child porn and sites whos sole purpose is to pirate something, who cant get to them cause the site is hosted on some foreign soil. though pirating one thing. they don't seem to remove the mass warez forums, or thankfully anything else

I didn't realize that, as it's the first time I've ever encountered this. Don |

atleast they Used to, http://www.chillingeffects.org/notice.cgi?sID=2763
searching google for "child porn" gives a frighting number of seeming actual results. and far fewer websites that are trying fight it. and I didn't notice one chilling effects take down notices. but I noticed them on every page when I searched for "lolita" a few years ago. that's a sad state of affairs |

I doubt it. It's not an area covered by the DMCA, as far as I'm aware - unless someone complaints that the copyright on their images is being violated, I suppose, but it seems a little unlikely that anyone would do so.

but the Chillingeffects post stuck with me, whenever google takes down a page, the request is filed there. |
