Ended Looking for damaged prs-505 to scavenge parts.

Hi there.

I think I have a damaged cable in my 505 that connects the key's to the motherboard. To fix this I am looking for a 505 reader with a damaged screen or some other type off major damage where I can scavenge the casing from.

So if you have a defective reader and are willing to part from it for a certain amound of $, please let me know.

There is a UK seller on eBay who has some faulty units for sale. Here is the item number of one of them - 330320037055. Please note that i have no knowledge of the seller, nor any personal interest in the listings; i just thought it might be what you are looking for.

Sorry if i have misled you but i was just asking William if he had found what he required. I don't have a broken 505 for sale myself. Luckily mine is still working perfectly!

Hi there.

I tried buying the ebay unit but they asked way to much for it, around $ 90 plus shipping

But I got contacted by a forum member via PM and we agreed on a good price to be paid in fictionwise gift certificates.

I had that damaged unit shipped over from Japan to europe by boat about two days ago to save cost....

So theoretically in about 4 weeks I will have my damaged unit.

I just recieved my spare reader and used it's casing to fix my own.

My own baby is now 100% functional again.

You congratulations. Glad you could get a working reader out of two broken ones!

Wish I was as good at fixing things, but sadly even when I was taking electronics at A-level I seemed to break more things than I created..
