What's the book?

My mind has gone completely blank - can anyone help me out?

I'm trying to remember the name of a classic 19th century adventure story, rather along the lines of "Treasure Island". The story involves a teenage boy who, along the way of the story, gets locked in a church crypt for a couple of days, recovers some jewels from the bottom of a well, and various other adventures. Does anyone have a clue what book I might be referring to? It's driving me mad, and I'll recognise the title as soon as I hear it!
