Error with epub viewer

Hello,
I'm attempting to view a ebook I converted to LRF format from ePub format with calibre previously.
It attempts to open the epub format and gives the following error:

Python 2.6 is a difficult dependancy to fill - I went looking for it and could not get it for Ubuntu Intrepid (nor am likely to in the future).

Could you open a ticket at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ and attach the epub file.

I have never had any trouble building any python release from source on any of the major platforms. Does this not work on the Ubuntu release?

I could not find Python 2.6 in the Ubuntu repositories for Intrepid (which is stable release btw). Not sure about source versions.
I have added a ticket (I believe it's up there anyhow). Its an ePub from PG, #17797 , "Memoir of Jane Austen by James Edward Austen-Leigh".

Source versions are available from www.python.org

You should be fine using python 2.5 that comes with Intrepid.

or use the binary installer, it has python2.6 embedded

The traceback refers to a non-existant python 2.6 directory after all.
