Free ebook from Karl Schroeder
From www.ebooksjustpublished.com/ :
"Ventus is a novel of information apocalypse set in the far future. For a thousand years the sovereign Winds have maintained the delicate ecological balance of the terraformed planet Ventus. Now an alien force threatens to wrest control of the terraforming system away from the Winds… Jordan Mason, a young tradesman, is thrust into the midst of an ancient galactic conflict when he becomes the only human on Ventus who can locate the source of the alien threat. But will he side with the Winds, who have brutally suppressed technological development among the human colonists of Ventus? Or will he throw in his lot with an entity that may be planning to remake Ventus in its own, deathly image? Ventus incorporates ideas about nanotechnology, terraforming, and information theory in an epic tale of war, tragic love, betrayal and transcendence." This link will take you to the authors site and it's in a variety of formats, enjoy ![]() |

I've formatted it for the Sony Reader, MobiPocket and IMP and posted all of them.
LRF: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?p=98213 Mobi: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13923 IMP: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=306059 P.S. I've updated the Sony and Mobipocket editions, and created IMP editions. |

Thank you very much. Once I say the new post onthis I decided to check out my converted copies. The Mobipocket was not up to standard and in fixing it, I also fixed up the Sony edition and from there it was easy enough to create the IMP editions.

Jo Walton's posts at tor.com are often about science fiction you may not have heard of that is worth reading, but almost equally often it isn't available as an ebook. In the case of The interesting question of thalience: Karl Schroeder’s Ventus, though, it is free. See earlier posts in this thread for the versions formatted for the Sony Reader, MobiPocket and IMP by JSWolf.
