Interesting. I can even imagine chargers in public places: fully charge your phone/laptop/ereader/etc for 0,05$.

some pros. some cons. doesnt look like it would work for laptops though, but for Large Lion Batterys found in cars for example.

That would sooo sweet. Battery technology is holding back so many devices at the moment, laptops/phones/readers.
My macbook pro is about 4.5 hrs max battery life I think, that's pretty pitiful when you are out and about..

That's interesting. I know that capaciter based batteries have been being worked on also. They are supposed to be able to be charged very quickly also. It is getting them to release their energy slowly that is the hard part.

According to the article it charges in 20 seconds instead of six minutes. I don't know if the math is linear, but since my batteries typically take 4 hours to charge then the 6min to 20 seconds ratio leads me to think this new tech would yield 13 minutes of charge time.

That is a definite speed improvement, but I wouldn't want to stand there watching the thing for the entire time

I hope we get wireless chargers soon and wireless USB technology. I hate having so many cables and chargers that do essentially the same thing.
