Hello from the UK

Hi everyone, I've just discovered this fantastic site - wish I'd found you all earlier as I've had my Sony 505 since last October and could have used some of your great tips back then! I'm a 50 year old book addict and the reader was my birthday present last year from my husband who has hopes that it'll stop me buying so many paper books. I've mastered the art of buying ebooks in the UK and am now ready to shop at some of the US ebook sites and am intrigued (if not a little miffed!) to find that most of my favourite books by contemporary British authors are available as ebooks in the US but not in the UK!

Hi Nicky and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a 505 for over a year now and like it a lot. And I'm hopelessly addicted as well

And probably cheaper, too, despite the increasingly fraught exchange rate. Anyhow welcome and enjoy .... Yes there are classics here - but also lots of other works ....

Geoff, if y'all would use "real" money (and drive on the right side of the road), there wouldn't be any exchange problem.

Ah but we do use real money and also drive on the correct side of the road. as to the exchange problem - we are managing to communicate without any problem ?

God I'm glad you drive on the correct side of the road. If you drive on the incorrect side then you usually have that nasty oncoming traffic hitting you. I drive on the correct side of the road here also.

I agree with you there is very limited & overpriced availability in the UK. Please help yourself & the rest of us ex pat's by emailing the major UK suppliers eg. Play.com Amazon, cdwow etc etc (feedback@---- will usually work) with your views.
