New old reader -- want to share books??

Hi -- I'm excited to have a "new" reader though it's really a used Sony eReader (500/505?).

I'd hoped I could share books with my niece who owns her own eReader. I thought I read it was possible for up to 5 devices? But I can't find any documentation or "how to" about it.

Any pointers?

The only way to share books from Reader to Reader (note: eReader is a different format of books all together and the Sony can't read them) is to have them registered to the same Sony account. You can have up to 6 devices (either Readers or PC's) activated on the same account.

Thanks! Does the "same account" mean the same for purchasing, etc.? I.e. I can't really share books with a couple friends who live elsewhere (like my niece)?

Yes, same account means for purchasing etc. (same username & pw). You and your niece could share an account it you wanted to I suppose.

Just make sure you are in agreement about paying for purchases (whose credit card to use, etc)

Thanks for all the help! Looks like we can't save two different credit cards so will have to retype each time. Otherwise, it might work?
