Remove books not deleting layout files

Using calibre 0.4.142 with a PRS-700. I've subscribed to a few news sources which download automatically and get pushed to the device when attached.
So far, very very cool.

When I've read them, I select the device, select the books, and click 'Remove books'. This nicely deletes the books from the device (no longer in database\media\books). However, the layout files are still over in database\layout\database\media\books.

Actually the layout files get left there when I remove regular (non-news) books too (makes sense), but with daily download and delete of news 'books' the layout files for these are accumulating pretty quickly.

Is calibre supposed to delete the corresponding layout file when it removes the books? I've just been deleting them by hand which seems to work ok. So really I'm just wondering if its a bug or a feature...

Since the layout files are pretty small, does it really matter? And in an ideal world, the 700 should automatically be deleting the layout files that correspond to missing books.
