Wifey is getting a Nexus 7 (32gb) - eReader?

My wifey is buying a Nexus7 (32gb) and she wishes to use it as an eReader as well as a tablet.

I have seen that there is a Kindle app for Nexus 7 however I am unsure how to move and a put books on it.

I was hoping that I could use Calibre but I am unsure.

The Nexus 7 as yet hasn't arrived but I like to have the information gathered a ready before I pick it up

When you install the kindle app it makes a folder on the sd called kindle so Just place the actual mobi files in the root of the kindle folder.. Not a folder in the folder.. It may take a min for the app to update but that works

There is also mantanoo and aldiko if you wish to read ePub.

and cool reader, mantano, moon+, fbreader ( for epubs etc.), as well as excellent orion viewer, ebookdroid, repligo (for pdf's)...you can't running out of good options for ebook reading on android...

The only thing that destroys the reading experience on android tablets is the outdoor reading under bright sunlight :-)
Add to that, indoor reading for long periods on an LCD screen hurt your eyes.
