Found a neat website

I just found this neat website. www.wowio.com

It lets you either buy the ebook in PDF format or actually read the whole thing for free on a web book reader that automatically opens up. You can save that to a favorites file. Even has bookmarks too.

Its showing books that are clearly in copyright, even marked as such, yet allowing to be read (granted, on your computer) for free?

How is this legal?

i think it's funded by advertising or sponsors. i seem to remember hearing about that a long time ago, but the pdfs were free to download at the time.

doesnt look to leaga if you ask me, there has to be some copyright infringement there

The viewing says it's copyrighted material. To download, it costs money.

Yes, it used to be a useful site (if you were willing to do PDF with social DRM) before its closure and re-launch with its new setup. Now, not so much (in my opinion).
