This is wonderful!
I just love this! I converted a pdf, word, and epub to Mobi. I couldn't believe how fast it was, and I love the metadata tool. Just for fun, I added four files and tried the batch convert. Seriously cool. Calibre is my new favorite program (sorry Book Designer).

You should open a web ticket for this. Assuming you search and don't find it already. This sounds like a bug rather than by design.
