Extend covers to full screen on sleep
I have book covers set as sleep screen, most of them are in a format that does not cover full screen, there are bars on each side. I have cover extension set to active, but I guess it only works when a custom message is set to top/bottom of the screen - I have it set to the middle.
How best to resize covers so that they show full screen, and can it be done without reloading whole books? I use Calibre/Koreader Sync. |

Try the sleep screen setting "Stretch cover to fit screen".

If you have the covers be full screen, the aspect ratio will be off and look so.

Stretching covers helped indeed, I had to increase the default level of 8% for some books to cover the whole screen. It does not look bad either, definitely better than the original view in my opinion.
Pity Koreader cannot zoom aside from stretching covers. |

Koreader actually does a bit more than stretching though (even if not documented in front end). Before the stretching happens, it adjusts the starting size, (zooms in or out accordingly) and then applies the strech.

Modify covers so they fill full screen before you upload them to the device. You get the best image quality that way.

The best image quality is a hi-res image that keeps the correct aspect ratio.
