Post Hi Everyone...

My name is Jody, and my new Sony PRS 700 Reader is on the UPS delivery truck as we speak. Of course I haven't even seen it yet, but I'm so excited to try it out that I've been surfing the web and found this thread. I'm off now to read all the posts to see what adventures await me. :

Nice to meet all of you.

Hi Jody and welcome to the Forum. I got a 505 a year ago and am addicted to it. Be sure and let us know how you like it.

If you go in the Lounge, you'll need to leave a trail of bread crumbs. Not that you could ever actually leave, but it's good to have some sustenance when you realize you are addicted...

Thanks for the welcome. I got the PRS-700 and it's cool, EXCEPT the glare problem that's been referred to in some forums is more than a problem. The features on the 700 are neat, but I can't live with the glare. The contrast is bad, the letters are dim, and it's really hard to read (and I have 20-20 vision). I've heard the 505 doesn't have the glare problem. Is that true, and is it easy to see the text? I'm returning this one, but am wondering if I should give the 505 a try. I'll give up the touch screen to be able to actually see the text.

Thanks for any advice.

I haven't had an problems with glare on the 505. You might want to compare the 505 and the 700 side-by-side,
