Inform Calibre about reading progress?

Is it possible to have fields like "Read Progress", "Read Date" in the main Calibre's list of books and automatically update them from the Calibre's own book viewer?

The Viewer successfully remembers the last page it opened a book in the last session. So that data is stored somewhere. Where is it stored?
Is it possible for main application to read it?

You can do this using a Kobo Reader and the Kobo Utilities Plugin to pull off the data on connect to your calibre library.

But I do not have Kobo Reader. Any other ideas, which would not require a separate hardware?

The Viewer is part of Calibre already - it is very strange that where is no integration between them.

There is no read progress tracking as I dont find that a useful enough feature to spend time implementing. As for having a column with the date when the book was viewed you can use https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=316974

The Reading Goals plugin looks like it does some of that. I've never used it but I'm pretty sure you have to update the progress manually.
