returning to same place in large table of contents
I have made an epub file with a large table of contents. It contains many songs and the start of each song is listed in one or more entries in a table of contents.
This is a nested table of contents which works well, for example a section for favourites, another for blues etc. I can expand any section and see the songs in that group (eg. blues). So a single song may appear in more than one section of the table of contents. The song page however only exists once in the body of the epub. When i use the table of contents, for example the blues section, i click on the song i want and all is good. Now i want to go back to the table of contents, but still be in the blues section of the table of contents. Re-opening the table of contents however takes me to the correct song however displayed within a different portion of the table of contents. I tried using an iphone with dropbox, using the builtin epub viewer of dropbox. Here is seems to work as i expected and returns me to the correct section of the table of contents. Is there any way i can return from the page back to exactly the same place in this type of table of contents? |

It sounds like a bug, but I'm not sure if I quite understand what you mean by a different portion of the table of contents.

So in this long table of contents there is a section called blues. The song kansas city would be listed in that area of the table of contents.
The same song (same content page in the body) might also be listed in another section, for example favourites. I could get to this song either way through the table of contents. That said if i clicked the entry in the blues section, when returning to the table of contents it would be better to return to the place in the TOC where the blues songs are, not come to a different section, for example favourites, which also lists the same song but the context of how i got there is lost. So there are multiple links in the TOC to a sing location in the body. When returning to the TOC could it be that it just finds any entry that matches rather than the actually keeping track of where we came from. eg. and note this is a large TOC, over 1000 entries nested a bit like below. The TOC nesting/expanding tree thing is great to allow quick access to desired page rather than scroll over 1000's of pages. TOC ---Blues ------Kansas City ------another blues song ---Favourites ------octopus garden ------Kansas city I am not sure if i should report this here or in the github repo. |

The GitHub repo with an example to reproduce would be ideal.
Thanks for the clarification. So perhaps more of a missing feature than a bug. |
