Johanna Kinkel: Hans Ibeles in London. Ein Familienbild aus dem Flüchtlingsleben. (1860)

›Frodok‹ hat diesen interessanten Roman über das Flüchtlingsleben in London vor Jahren hier schon einmal hochgeladen. Er hat mir seinen Text großzügig zur Verfügung gestellt – ich benötigte für mein 48er Projekt eine zitierfähige Ausgabe und habe deshalb ein paar Details ergänzt (Seitenzahlen u.a.). Der Text ist mit dem Erstdruck identisch.

Letztlich entwirft Frau Kinkel hier weit mehr als ein ›Familienbild‹: Es geht für viele Flüchtlinge ums bloße Überleben, um die Anpassung an die Londoner Gesellschaft, um die Bewahrung künstlerischer und intellektueller Ideale. Aber auch die Spannungen innerhalb der deutschen Flüchtlingsgemeinschaft werden thematisiert. Empfehlenswert!
