Export isn't readable anymore
Parallel to Calibre, I list all my books in LibreOffice. And since I started with Calibre (kind of years ago) there never was a problem to get the CSV with the same text as is entered in Calibre.
I didn't do any updated (working with 8.5.0 on Win11), and my last export was something like a week ago. So today I wanted to export the newly entered data, and now all those german letters (the a, o, u with two dots above - ä, ö, ü) aren't written anymore but replaced by So this way I definitely can't use the export anymore without manually correcting all those . What happened? And how can I change this back to the former way of export? |

Nothing happened. The export remains the same as it always was. Make sure whatever software you are importing it into is decoding it using the UTF-8 encoding.

But I didn't change anything, neither in Calibre nor in LibreOffice? And as there was no Update, what thit change that setting? Not to mention that I checked every possible setting in LibreOffice but there is nothing like UTF-8 to find

Have you tried different fonts in Libre Office?

you might also try opening the CSV in Notepad (or equivalent UTF-8 supported text editor) to check if the special characters are there. this will eliminate or confirm calibre export as the issue.

Okay, in Notepad is everything there. But in LibreOffice not. So it seems that I need to go to their support - altough there was neither an update nor I changed anything
