desktop.ini in the autoadd folder

I wanted to add an icon to my autoadd folder to make it easier to differentiate from other folders. Calibre added the desktop.ini file to library. Any ideas?

EDIT: I can disable all files, or add an exception for .ini in settings.

Desktop.ini is a windows created (hidden) file. You use Windows Explorer 'change icon' to change

the folder icon

Yes, that creates the desktop.ini file.

Other folder view changes also create this file, so there is no way to eliminate it.

I misread your EDITs

I have the Autoadd folder in the library folder… unsurprisingly its name is .autoadd, it's excluded in Check library.

I also have an desktop.ini file in some libraries that references the .ico in calibre.exe, they're also excluded in Check library.

The icon I use for My Books. I copied the green glass folders over from Vista because I like how they look.

Do you also see a desktop.ini on your desktop? Have you removed the checkmark from Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)?

I have them hid. It added file anyways.

Not tried that. I had .ico and .ini added to the exclusion list so won't try to add anymore.

Read Only files of any type in the Autoadd folder won't get added - just tested it.

Handy to know.
