Help with High Contrast Colors for Low Vision

The default colors for Calibre aren’t bad. Some are tragically bad for users with low vision. In particular, the right-side scroll bar slider is white on light grey. Why? It is essentially invisible to me.

My wife has normal vision and it’s an issue for her too. My low vision is not severe. In fact, all I need is a bit bigger font size, a clear font and a high contrast color scheme.

To change to color scheme is not easy.

Go to Preferences > Interface > Look and Feel > Main Interface (it defaults to that tab) > Adjust Colors

Check “Set Custom Colors” (The dark color scheme is next to useless. A high contrast scheme would be a nice third option)

I couldn’t change the white scroll bar slider color from white to something dark. From all of default colors that can be changed, I would expect a value of #ffffff.

Can anyone please tell me what to change? It it possible?

Here are changes I could make:

The background color for alternate rows in tables and lists > #d5e0ff (or any light color because the text is black)

Interface font suggestion: I use Atkinson Hyperlegible which is free from the Braille Institute. It’s sans serif and is the clearest font I’ve found. I also use the same font on my Kobo and Microsoft Office apps. You can get Atkinson Hyperlegible from the Google Fonts site or from the Braille institute.

Really, the white on light grey should be changed for all users.

Here's a color palette for you to try.
You can install the font theme on your operating system and select it in Preferences/Appearance, then change font.
When downloading the file, remove the .txt extension. I've added it for uploading to the forum.
