Unable to open KUAL - JB Kindle Error

So I had jailbroken my kindle a while back. Like about 3 months ago or so. I exited koreader recently and can't get back in.
I was getting an error message that said "Error The permissions to open this item have expired. Please contact the developer."

I redownloaded KUAL from the snapshots, hoping to fix it. I know KUAL was updated and so I thought that would be all, but now I have a new error "Error This item is not signed by an authorized developer. Please contact the developer"

Please help

You need to install the DevCerts update.

I have a similar problem with my jailbroken PW2. I extracted:

Update_mkk-20250419-k5-ALL_keystore-install.bin

and copied it to the Kindle root folder. But the Kinde silently deletes the .bin file, because when I reconnect the Kindle it's gone.

I think I had to put it in mrpackages and do ;log mrpi to get it installed.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. When I entered the command nothing happened and when I try to start the latest version of KUAL, I'm still getting "This item is not signed by an authorised developer. Please contact the developer."
I also tried Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin in the root folder, but I'm getting update error 007.

I faced a similar problem but for a PW3 about a month ago. After some failed attempts, I used winterbreak to start anew. Once 5.14 installed, I did winterbreak. Later I added the latest devCerts which, I have been told, are valid till... 2099. Initially my PW3 was running the antiquated 5.7. version...

To see if winter break can be used on your machine depends on which Kindle version you are running now and if you are still below the WB compliant firmware version of 5.12.2.2. (for PW2).
