Just Curious: What Happened to the Metadata Files (?)

Noticed that sometime in the last version or two there is no longer a metadata file created for newly loaded books(?) Older books still have the separate files.

Are they now in some db? Just curious because I want to back it up if there is such a new critical file to be keep in a safe place.

(Yes I confess I am one of those unsupported users who keeps all my books on a NAS with the database on one desktop shared out and backed up to the NAS..no scolding please. Been doing it for years and all my books are sitting on a RAID 5 with nightly backup)

Nope no changes to that. You can see the status of current backups via the library maintenance menu.

I see..

Just to be clear my setup is:

1. The "library" is stored on a NAS which is configured as a RAID-5 with a local external backup of the whole NAS weekly to an attached external drive.

2. The DB is stored on a Windows desktop and shared to other devices that want to access the library using the Location environmental.

3. The DB is backed up to the NAS via a nightly batch job on the desktop.

Unsupported but it is working for me. For quite a few years actually.

Not sure why am not seeing the metadata files but since everything is working I am not bothering to investigate.
