Amazon purchase shows on Kindle but not in Finder
My Kindle Paperwhite (g11) has never connected to Amazon until today. I previously used the d/l to computer and transfer via USB method.
Today I connected to wifi and purchased a book from Amazon. Book has downloaded to Kindle and I have opened it. Connected Kindle to iMac via USB intending to import new book to Calibre but new book not in the kindle/documents folder where I expect it to be. Clues anyone, or is this a 'feature' of Amazon's recent changes that I haven't clocked ? Paperwhite 5.14.0.1 MacOS 13.3.2 Cheers 'n' Beers |

In Calibre, select Device instead of Library when Kindle connected. Don't bother with Finder (Mac), or Explorer on Windows, or a file manager on Linux. Then "Add the book to Library"
You'll need the KFX input plug in. |

I agree with Quoth that the easiest way to import books from a Kindle is using calibre's device view. But in case you are wondering where your books are located, modern Kindle download them to the "documents/Downloads/Items01" folder.

Thank-you, both.
I was blissfully unaware of the /downloads folder hidden amongst the 150 or so books I have on there - and there it was, the first book I downloaded directly from Amazon ![]() Cheers 'n' Beers |
