Kindle Scribe (2024) How to Draw on Imported Books

I can't figure out how to draw notes on imported books through Calibre. I can highlight sections and add notes to them as well, but it lacks the native drawing that Kindle store books have. Is there a specific plugin or conversion I need to do on top of this to get this function working, or is it not possible with imported books?

Are you trying to do a Kindle Action (feature) using the Calibre Viewer?

I can move this thread to Viewer for you

But I think the Viewer is not an Kindle emulator. For that you probably will have to use the Kindle app and configure Preferences: Behavior (right side) to NOT use the internal viewer for the AZW or Mobi types.

OR
Set up Open With to use the Kindle app, then yo right click the Calibre book entry: Open With

I think they mean handwritten notes in sideloaded books on the Scribe.

IIRC, I've seen that people who have problems with it found they had to use the 'Send to Kindle' feature with epub before they could write on them.

I haven't worked with it myself, so can't say for sure. But might be worth a try.
