Calibre won't connect after reaching certain number of ebooks

Strange problem here. Everything works fine as long as I have no more than 890 ebooks on my fire HD 10, but after I pass that amount then calibre will no longer connect to the device, instead it says wrong data type or communication failure. I go and delete any book from inside the tablet, and calibre starts working fine. I add another book and it suddenly won't connect again. In addition, file explorer on Win11 is having the same issue. At 890 books or below it will open the kindle documents folder and I can view the books, but when I pass 890 it will stop working and say the folder is empty.

Everything is updated to the newest versions. I tried using a second Fire HD 10 tablet, transferred the files/books over to there via USB copy/paste (not via calibre) and... the same issue occurs. Calibre (and file explorer on Win11) won't let me pass 890 books and still connect. The tablets both work just fine. I also tried deleting the drive info file, no dice.

Just before the problem started, I was trying to remove an ebook from my tablet via calibre, but the program stopped responding. After some time it unfroze but had failed to remove the book. I had exactly 891 books on the tablet at that time. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can fix this problem, short of resetting my tablet?

Kindle Fires uses MTP. MTP is extremely flaky you wont be able to manage large book collections on the device with it.

Thanks for the response.

I'm not one to give up easily, and I finally found a workaround to the problem in case anyone else out there has a similar problem. I had Calibre start sending new books to a different, and empty, folder on the tablet. Everything is working fine now. I'll probably move on to a better tablet/ereader long before this second folder gets limited by MTP. I hope, anyway.
