Question Kindles can't read an Mobi or Epub book OK in Calibre

Hi,
This is my first post. I have used calibre for years with no problems. However I downloaded a Project Gutenberg book, the Vicar of Wakefield. It reads OK in Calibre but I cannot read it in either of my two Kindles in either Mobi or epub formats. What am I doing wrong?

You really need to give more details about what's going wrong.

Can't transfer?
Can't find?
Can't open?
Can't read all text?
Bad formatting?

Kindles do not read EPUB if sent by USB. (Amazon converts that if they transfer it via WiFi) (Calibre should have don an 'on the fly' conversion if the 'connected device' device settings had not been changed)

Note: Calibre is very forgiving of (some) coding errors that choke many devices.

Pleas answer Paul's questions, so we can refine the places to look.

How about including the PG link to the book format you downloaded

Thumbs up

Hi both,
Thanks for the conversion points. It was a Project Guttenberg book so I set up Calbre to output to Kindle and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much.
