can Koreader translate cbz files
Looking to sideload some manga in japanese and hoping koreader will allow me to use my custom dictionary with cbz files, will this work by default or will I need to do something extra?

Since manga is image files, using a dictionary is going to be a tough task. OCR the panel and then feel that to the dictionary type of task.

It has built-in OCR, but actual success depends a lot on the quality of the image.
Make sure to get correct tesseract data (see KOReader User Guide online) to put into koreader/data/tesssata folder. |

Quality is only part of the equation. I assume it'll be hand-lettered in a way OCR optimized for print will have difficulty with. But it can't hurt to try.

Thanks for all the quality info, was also wondering if there is a reputable jp-en and jp-jp dictionary for koreader?
Just found out dictionaries made for kobo don't work with koreader. |
