Kobo sage will not charge Boots up then shuts down

Hello,

I have not used my kobo sage for a while and so the battery is flat.
When i plug it in it turns on and boots up but it shuts down again asking for it to be charged.

I have a fancy usb cable that shows the wattage that is being drawn.
It goes up to 1.2W when it boots up.
After it shuts down it goes back down to 0.0W so its definitely not charging

I have tried 2 different usb chargers and 2 cables.

Is there a soft reset i can do that will not wipe my books and places in a book that i have read up to?

Any other things i can try?

thanks
Martin

After the Sage boots, can you leave it plugged in to charge? I suggest using the cable that cane with the Sage to charge.

I was having the exact same issue with my Sage just now. Tried a bunch of different cables and power sources, to no avail. But I found some tips online that led me to this fix:

1. Plug in the USB power.
2. Hold down the Sage power button for 10+ seconds to perform a soft reboot. (When I did that, the Sage stayed on the normal home screen instead of changing to "Please charge your reader." It showed 5% battery, but was still not charging.)
3. Unplug the USB power and plug it in again.

That did the trick! It's now charging normally.
