Talking Libra Colour, must have mods and quality of lifers? Where to start?

Got a Kobo Libra Colour recently, have read a few books on it and now it's time to start modding it.
It have one of the newest firmwares 4.4 or something installed.

I don't know where to start, so I'm gonna ask you for inspiration, to hold my hand a little, lead me in the right direction.
See me as a little naive tinkerer that don't know all shit from shit yet.

What are the must haves according to your personal use?
Please let me know.

I do have a little list to go along with this post too.

1. I noticed is that image PDF files are sluggish and problematic to read, for example of old scanned newspapers and magazines.
Lots of flickering and lag while moving the screen over the huge zoomed in page.
Any solution to make it better?

2. One book also don't work well with dark mode, some text is visible and some text is just invisible. I guess it's some text formatted differently in the epub that gets messed up or show as black text when it should be inverted for the black background.
With normal mode the text is readable, can I modify this book to work in dark mode?

3. Can I run multiple dictionaries at once? For example one English-English and one English-Swedish? Maybe even in two different windows popping up or at least sharing the same one.

4. Another thing I noticed is that it is a bit slow to click on every single book and add it to different collections on the sluggish Kobo.
Can this organizing be done in Calibre or something?

I want books neatly organized into several different series and collections, and then to be SMACK A BANG'ed into the Kobo from the computer with a six-shooter pointing at it's smug face; cocking it up while announcing:
'This is how it's gonna be and you ain't gonna fuck with this what so ever, or you will have your little chips blown out all over the place!'
'You hear me Kobo!? You filthy animal!'

For me, patching is essential. I use a lot of patches (over 20).

Some people prefer KOReader to the native reader; I don't. YMMV.

As to your questions:
It's generally agreed that KOReader is better for PDF files than the native reader. I don't read PDFs, so I can't comment on it.

The book with the invisible text obviously has some color coding in its css. That can easily be removed with an epub editor (Sigil or the Calibre editor). Personally I edit all my ebooks, adjusting the formatting to my liking.

You can install and use custom dictonaries, but not use several of them at the same time. It's easy enough to hop between them, though.

Series and collections can be managed fully automatically with Calibre, with no manual work on the Kobo at all.

I've never bothered with actual patches (config file entries don't count). I had KoReader for PDFs for a while till Kobo added margin cropping (now per document). KOReader is a pain for 1000s of ebooks as there is only slow search or slow file browser, no metadata library interface. I fix any broken CSS in Calibre Editor so don't need the mad nested menus of KOReader over-rides.

I don't use kepub and I think some of the patches improve it.

I only organise by Calibre. Have about 8,000 ebooks (about 90% PD) on the Kobo Sage. My proofreader uses a Kobo Libra 2.

I don't see the point of dark mode.

Even the 8″, never mind a colour 7″ is too small for most PDFs except small format instruction booklets.
