Irish Times recipe (the paywall, not the free one) - layout deterioration since July

The layout of the Irish Times subscriber news fetch deteriorated drastically in July from how it was previously. Has anyone else experienced this?

The Table of Content links to each article are now messed up, and all articles are strewn with unwanted images and links.

* For a long time, I've been using calibre to automatically download The Irish Times paywall/subscriber recipe every day.
* Tuesday, July 9th is the last day it downloaded correctly.
* On that date, as per all prior dates, the downloaded feed/EPUB was perfect: Each Table of Contents article link linked to a wonderful, clutter-free representation of the article in question.
* But since Wednesday, July 10th, every article link entry in the Table of Contents is now 'nested' in such a way that in order to go the link for a particular article, you need to click on a dropdown next to the NEXT article's link in the Table of Contents and then click on a sort of sub-ToC link.
* Furthermore, every article in the downloaded feed is now littered with loads of images from other unrelated articles and url links to other articles.

I wanted to upload two EPUBs (one good, one bad) for illustration/comparison, but since they both exceed the forum's 20MB file size limit, I placed them on Drive instead, and provide the links:

* Last 'good' news fetch (Irish Times, Tue, 09 Jul 20)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W7g...ew?usp=sharing
* Example of new, bad/deteriorated news fetch (Irish Times, Fri, 22 Nov 20)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W4S...ew?usp=sharing

Is anyone able to explain why or what may have happened, or provide or suggest any remedy?

Caveat: I don't have a clue, I'm afraid, as to how recipes actually work. For me, like so much tech for so many people, they are one of these things in life that 'just work' without my really needing to understand exactly 'how'.

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to look into and/or respond to this.

try the free one, I think it loads pay-walled articles too, if it doesnt, pm me your login id and password to test.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. Yeah, the free one seems to work well, I have to say.

I am surprised though, because the thing is: Way back when (i.e. years ago), I did try the free one, but it mostly just didn't work. Consequently, I migrated (after signing up for a sub with the IT) to using only the paid built-in news recipe.

As I recall, back in the day when I last used the free recipe, clicking on article links led to either an empty article or to a truncated (i.e. containing only first paragraph) version.

But like I say, the download just now looks really quite good and complete, and I'm happy to stick with it for the time being: See how I get along.

Thank you again.

OMG, the Irish Times paid/subscription recipe is repaired as of calibre 7.23.

Who did that?

Thank you, whoever you are !
