Kobo Touch Issue? Not sure

So my usual routine is to convert epub to epub, polish the books and then transfer to my Clara BW using Calibre.

I did this for Lord Peter Views the Body - Dorothy L. Sayers which I got from Project Gutenberg.

The problem is that somehow spaces disappear from a sentence, specifically between a word and an italicized word, like this: worryme, this seems to be true for the whole book. Other times I get things like this: andMartin, or Burdockcame, or amusement;but (no space).

It is very irritating.

What I've done is NOT cover epub to epub, and NOT polish the book, and I still get all this nonsense when I transfer using Calibre and Kobo Touch.

Another thing I've done is to simply drag the file to the Clara and the problems disappear; this is the downloaded file without using Calibre at all.

The file is called: pg73295-images-3

EDIT: One further point, if I convert epub to epub and also use Polish Books, the file seems clean when I read using the Calibre reader - I'm assuming that the file is OK until transferred.

The current version of the KoboTouchExtended driver has a bug (https://github.com/jgoguen/calibre-k...ver/issues/176). The current recommendation is to go to https://github.com/jgoguen/calibre-kobo-driver/releases and download v3.7.0, and manually install that one.

That did the trick. Now I have to figure out what other books were corrupted.
