I want to see the book cover, but

I have a Libra Colour with a magnetic cover. I want to see the book cover/screensaver when I open it. Right now I have the option to have it go to sleep and awaken automatically, which bypasses the book cover. I've tried turning off the auto, and set the "sleep automatically in 5 minutes" setting, but the Kobo does not go to sleep with the cover closed. It does if I leave it open.

Any way to get it to work, short of not closing the cover?

The ideal setup would be 'go to sleep upon closing and use buttons to wake'

Thanks

Have you tried turning off the Sleep Cover in Settings / Energy Settings and Privacy, set the Automatically Sleep to 5 minutes, and turn on the wake on page turn button.

Then after 5 minutes of inactivity it will go to sleep, or, if you don 't want to wait just tape the power button on the back.

You can then wake the device either by the page turn button or again, touchibg the power switch.

If you disable the sleep cover so you can see the book cover when you open, the sleep cover won’t put it to sleep. Did you set a timeout for it to go to sleep on inactivity?

Odd. On mine, in Settings => Energy Saving and privacy, Under ENERGY SAVING, I have Automatically go to sleep after: set to 5 minutes. Under SLEEP AND POWER OFF, I have all 5 options checked ( Wake device with page turn button:, Show current read:, Show book covers full screen:, Show info panel on full screen covers: and Indicator light while charging: ). Under SLEEPCOVER, I have Automatically sleep and walk up: unchecked so the sleepcover is disabled.

It doesn't matter whether I have the cover open or closed, my KLC goes to sleep after about 5 minutes (I folded the upper corner of the sleepcover back so I could watch. I had to rename the screensaver directory in the .kobo folder so I would see the book covers but the behaviour was the same either way.

I have KOreader installed as well, and if go in there first, then exit back to stock, the Kobo does not sleep with the cover closed. It's weird

Exit the reading software. From the main Kobo menu tap the top LEFT of the screen (the three bars next to the word Home) and tap on Settings.
