That's all I came back to say! The update adding wake-up ability to my page turn buttons is the biggest quality of life update for me - as the Kindle is removing abilities, Kobo is adding them.
The amount of times I get interrupted reading then see the book cover on my screen, then have to open my actual cover to push the button, is huge - I know this is not a problem as such, but, honestly, not having to do this incessantly is making a huge difference to my reading happiness. I had been spending some time reading on my Oasis recently, which has a lovely screen, but I was missing my Kobo for its ability to hold down a button and flick through the pages (I know I can press and get a multi-page view on the Oasis, but it's not the same). It is instinctive for me now to make this gesture, and I miss it when I don't have it. Now, if only Kobo would add the right side on screen adjustment for the color temperature like in KOReader, I would have everything I ever need in an e-reader. (Except a bigger color screen - hopefully this is coming soon from Kobo). |

By the time I can get to the buttons on my Libra 2, it's already awake. I open the cover and it wakes.

Using the power button is fine for me. I don't use a cover while reading.

I just switched to the clear case from my usual SleepCover for this feature. Not having to reach behind the reader just to turn it on is nice. Especially when I can see the cover of my latest read while it's in sleep mode.

Does this work on Libra 2? Only with Nickle reader?

If the cover is closed, how do you see the screen?

Not all of us close the cover every time we put the Kobo down. With the button to wake I can just pick the device up with the cover still open and press the page button.

I guess I pictured the device with the cover closed. After years of a house with cats, I'm still in the habit of always closing the cover.

I too have cats and don't use a cover at all. But I do have a habit of not leaving my devices just lying around where cats can access them - I always put them out of immediate reach when I have to stop for a moment. When I stop for a long time, I put my ereader away in a sleeve.

I dog doesn't go for my Reader. So I'm OK putting it down where I want which is usually on the arm of the sofa, the coffee table, the side table, or the island.

I only see page button to wake as an advantage if you have no sleep cover and you use the power button for screen shots.
As soon as you lift the ereader the rear button is easily pressed. |

The cover is open, usually the kobo is propped up on my knee or a cushion using the folding cover. When the screen timed out before, I would then have to kind of close the cover over a bit to get to the button. I’m enjoying not having to do this anymore.
