Author name problem when adding books

I have a problem with the presentation of the author name. When I add a new book, calibre changes the author name to "LN & FN" and creates two authors for the book instead of one. The old database books are in the format "LN, FN". How do I fix it?

If you can't attach images in the "advanced" post editor yet (not enough posts) then please provide:

The name of an author that is changed.
What the name is changed to.
The contents of the tweak "Splitting multiple author names (ID: authors_split_regex)" (Preferences / Tweaks)

You have to fix some. And or With are treated as 2 authors.
You need to correct (for Calibre, but they really are 2 people

)
Joe and Mary Smith --> Joe Smith & Mary Smith
