Can't read my old books
Some years ago I had an old Kindle 3 and I just got round to putting a new battery in it. I'm trying to transfer the books on it to my Kindle but I'm getting this error?
"This book is locked by DRM. To learn more about DRM and why you cannot read or convert this book in calibre, click here."
I just updated calibre to 7.20.0 and updated the 2 KFX plugin files. Can anyone suggest what's going on please?

Book downloaded directly on a Kindle Keyboard 3 will probably have DRM. You'll need to have the DeDRM plugin for calibre and enter your Kindle's serial number in the preferences for the plugin. Then the DRM can be removed.

But maybe ONLY by a fresh download from Amazon direct to PC via browser, certainly if azw3 format.

If titles are old mobi, you'd want the azw3 versions newly downloaded from Amazon anyway.

I had deregistered the old Kindle years ago and don't have the account now. But I managed to get the books off and they're in azw3 format now. Spot on, thanks!
