First, I don't know if I gave right title.
Second, This is what I would like to be able to do: 1. Add section within What I have as Multiple Author books and or ability to add subsections: A. series B. Author or authors Genre 2. Separate section for Cookbooks aside from within author or series folders 3. Section for Fanfiction alone with the following subsections that could be added: A. Authors B. sites gotten from C. Genre Also, I am not software writer literal, so I would need step by step instructions. Also easy instructions ![]() |

Calibre does not organize by series folders. As a matter, you do not need to even know what the Library folder structure looks like (and never touch it or you break linkages).
Tags: are how you classify. Cookbooks, steampunk, Religion... Series: (and Series_index) are how you track their order. Note:There is only one that can be set per book. Some folk make a custom column (series like) for a second. I chose the Hierarchical to breakdown a single universe. Pern,Harper Hall YMMV Authors has a column. & between if multiple Jon Smith & Mary Smith Custom columns can be used for just about anything there is a regular one of. I have a #usertags column, that I add a Tag for the store or source. |

Not sure I get what you want to do, but I guess a combo of Virtual Libraries plus View Manager plugin might be useful.
You'd need to click Virtual library, select "Show Virtual libraries as tabs", as a first step. Then create a VL for cookbooks, for instance, by clicking Virtual Libraries button again, then "Create" -> Fill in VL name -> fill in search expression, e.g. tag:cookbook The View Manager plugin allows choosing what columns you want displayed - I'm assuming you're talking book list view, not cover grid mode. |
