Import and Replace Metadata from CSV File

Got a situation. I have two custom date fields in my Calibre library: Date Started and Date Finished. Somehow in the past two weeks, the Date Finished field for all 5862 records in my Calibre DB was overwitten with the date '0118-01-01'. Not sure how that happened, but I was able to pull a copy of the metadata.db file that had the correct Date Finished data from a backup. I extracted the metadata from the backup to a CSV file using calibredb catalog, so I have a list of calibre IDs and the associated Date Finished data. Is there a way, maybe using calibredb, to merge the Date Finished data back into my library? Thanks!

Did you try the calibredb set_metadata option?

You will have to re-extract the csv file with uuids instead of ids, after which you can import the data using the Import List plugin, where you can match the books using the identifier ID:uuid.
