Clara BW refresh

iFixit features an entire portal for a new Kobo Clara BW (P365) https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Kobo_Clara_BW_%28P365%29 which apparently is a mid-cycle refresh for the N365 (the 2024 release of the Clara BW). The only difference I can see is that it has a 2000mAh battery instead of the current 1500mAh, which is already a nice upgrade. The puzzling part is that it says it was released in April 2025, but as far as I can see all Kobo websites still sell the old one (N365). Is there anywhere already selling the new P365? I can't find a mention of it anywhere.

One interesting item is that the P365 FCC application shows Top Victory Electronics (Taiwan) as the manufacturer and not Netronix. See https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/ARS-P365 for what little it shows.

Yes, TPV had made two devices instead of Netronix in the past year.
One is Kobo BW, which the firmware is not compatible.
One is Reamoo Nana, which basiclly is a android version of Kobo Libra Color.

Very nice. So we can check another page on the FCC's site every day for clues, haha.

By the way, for some time now there is a 7 inch screen is available from E-Ink, which is a Carta 1300, with stylus input. The new Onyx Go 7 (BW) already has that screen.

So my thinking is, there could be a possible "revision" of the Libra Colour here, just with a slight modification as it would have a BW screen instead of colour, but with the same stylus input features. Of course the colour highlighting could be only a grey highlighting with different shades of grey.

I feel as though this detail might be important and needs more attention. Are you saying that the Mark 12 firmware is *not* compatible with some Clara BW devices people already have? Is there any guardrail preventing the device from installing the Mark 12 firmware?

E-ink doesn't seem to decrease prices, and until that the Clara iterations should remain on 6", as smaller ereaders are more affordable in general, and also the most sold models.

I know it's stupid, but I really like the name "Libra", I hope they keep it for 7" size models.

At the same time EU introduced some regulations, which hopefully makes the Mobius screen to come back to ereaders. (Not a huge chance though...)

We are not talking price. Kobo has no 7" B&W reader. All they have is the lousy 7" color crap. Kobo really does need a new 7" B&W Reader. I find 6" too small and all they rest are lousy. 8" which some might find too large and a 10.3" which is too large. Plus the batteries are very poor. So they are out. The color models are out because the color overlay is lousy and it kill contrast big time.

That might be from the comment in one item that the admin account no longer works. Though that might just need setting the admin password.
