Edit Metadata during import

Hello,

i have a question regarding the import of new books. During import i would like to add custom tags (e.g. read / unread) and remove tags e.g. publisher.

Under Adding Books i can transform /filter tags and Author. But how to perform actions like the above?

Maybe you can help me, thanks in advance!

publisher is not a tag its a separate metadata field. You can affect it using transform tags.

And on what basis would you add read/unread automatically anyway. Whatever that basis is you can always do it after importing.

The Adding configuration is just for Calibre Standard fields.

Why not tick the Mark newly added books Adding action, then follow up on Marked books (ctrl Shift M) manually?

I never understood why a book needed to be marked UNREAD

If it ain't Read, the only other thing it could be is READING or it is unread.

Is it simply a case that all boxes (fields) have to be filled with something?

@theducks: sure, you are right. It must not be tagged as unread, its more an optical thing. Personal Preference. Inner Monk, whatever.....
