Same issue here. Would love to find a solution. It may be connected to outdated browser certificates. Looks like they touch on this issue here:

You need to updtae root (CA) certificates. Make sure to back up original ones first

I don’t have K3 anymore, but any good source is OK. Like a recent Linux distro.
Kindle only has a few specific to Amazon certificates in the beginning, otherwise it is the same bunch of CA Certificates. I don’t think K3 has store support anymore, but those certificates you will need (probably) to still be able to sync your books. |

Wonder if this could work.
User-Agent Spoofing: Some websites perform checks based on the user-agent string sent by the browser. You can try spoofing the user-agent to make the Kindle 3 appear as a different device. |

This isn't related. You still need to pass the SSL security checks before the server will let you in.

I am trying to update certs for K3 and I am getting this error:
/etc/ssl/certs$ update-ca-certificates -sh: update-ca-certificates: Permission denied Using WinSCP and it looks like I am log in as a root. /etc/ssl/certs$ ls -l $(which update-ca-certificates) -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13831 Jan 19 14:27 ca-certificates.conf Am I doing something wrong? |

Maybe update-ca-certificates lacks execute permission?
