Lost preferences
I lost all my preferences -- buttons, behavior, etc. -- except plugins and custom columns.
Is there any way to recover them, or do I just have to modify everything again? |

What OS?
Where is your backup <hint, you should be making one, at least every time before you make a major change to the overall Look&Feel of Calibre>? The configuration folder is where User Preferences and plugins are kept. (and is per USER LOGON ) Custom Columns are per Library and become part of the db. (some plugins need both places as they allow for different Library usage) |

I backup my whole system every day, so I know I've got one. Where is the configuration folder? Is it in the C:\Users directory? I found some things in C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local, but I don't know what I should recover. Thanks for the help |

Unless you have made other changes (that are not easy to fix), just replace the files in the Calibre folder (the sub folders should be fine). You may lose search histories or last read, but that is minor.

The configuration folder is usually in User/AppData/Roaming. The folder is named calibre. You can replace the entire folder with the one from your backup.
