Kindle Store payment failed but book downloaded anyway, what to do?
Good day.
Today I bought a few books directly from my device, and apparently payment failed, yet the books downloaded anyway and I am able to read them without issue. I tried checking them on Calibre yet DeDRM decryption failed, so apparently they didn't even get tied to my device Serial Number. Trying with others I actually paid for works perfectly. I tried going to the Amazon website, and I am not able to either "refund" or "cancel" the orders, they just prompt me to update my card, which I can't do since it shouldn't have failed (just tried it and worked fine). Is this a common occurence? Will something happen should I fail to fix this in the 30 days? Thanks. |

Make sure to also update your 1-Click payment settings. That should clear it up.

Update your card number /payment settings, download the books again and you'll be fine. If you don't pay for your purchase, you can hardly complain when Amazon eventually blocks your account, angels stop singing, a kitten dies, et cetera.

The charge card I used for a recent one click purchase was the Amazon Visa card. There was nothing wrong with the card (circa 2023), but something was amiss with Amazon's backend processing. The only way around this was to globally disable one-click. Not needing such a convenience, I find it preferable to order a group of books the old school way, on a single invoice.

Has happened to me when I tried to use points to purchase. I had to do a chat to have it fixed to take out using points and just use my credit card. I am not sure but it might not be in your books on manage books on the website, but yes it remains on your kindle for some odd reason. Check to see if it appears in manage kindle on a computer and if not then just order it again. |

You should have gotten an email from Amazon. Telling you to update your payment, and then you just have to go through the payment process again. If you go to your order page, you could see where the payment failed and just repossess it.
