Calibre-Server - exclude books (by tag?)

Is there any way to exclude a book, or series of books, from being displayed by calibre-server?

The documentation shows a --restriction tag - but it doesn't specify how it should be used.

For example, can I restrict by author, by series, by tag, etc?

A restriction is based on a saved search, so yes you can do virtually anything you want in it.
