Kindle Voyage "Dead Pixels"?

Hello. I recently bought a used Kindle Voyage and found out that it has dozens of black dots(dead pixels?) on the screen. These dots are inverted. They become white(or light-grey) on the black background.Small ones can be seen only from really close distance but bigger ones are clearly visible while reading. My previous reader is Kindle Paperwhite(5 gen 2012) that i bought new back in 2013. It has nothing like this on its display. The seller claims that every Voyage has this "dots" to one degree or another. Is it true? Do you have something like that on your Voyage? Photos are atached.

I sold my Voyage a few years ago, but I don't remember it having any black dots. I still have a photo of it, which I've attached, and I can't see any dots on the photo either.

Thank you for replying. The photo is really helpful. I don't see anything there either. Tried to make photo from a similar distance and they are still clearly distinguishable.

Try cleaning with tooth paste (not gel or powder) or car paint scuff remover in case it's on the the surface, such as droppings from small spiders.

I've never seen an eink screen like thatb and I have seen very many Kindles and other ereaders.

This is the first I have ever seen a suggestion to use an abrasive on an e-ink screen. Although, if the Voyage display surface is glass, I guess it would be safe.

Those abrasives are too fine to scratch plastic. Though it will take a huge amount of rubbing to remove even very fine scratches. They are polishing compounds rather than abrasive. They won't scratch plastic screens.

Pearl Drops brand might be too coarse and abrasive. The dentist says it will wear away the tooth enamel!

If in doubt test on a piece of scrap plastic.

My Voyage has no black dots. This is not normal.

After looking very closely at my Voyage at full brightness, I eventually did find two such small black dots on the screen. Those are really tiny though! I feel sorry that those dots bother you tritop, to be honest I would never had noticed had I not seen this thread. One advantage perhaps of having slightly aging eyes!

Those dots are not on the surface of a glass. It is something with e-ink display itself.

That is because yours are small enough for you not to notice them while reading and your Voyage has got only two of them.

I found an article titled "Just How Much Better Is Amazon’s Kindle Voyage Screen?" It contains some close-up photos of the display. Similar dots are clearly distinguishable although they are not as bold.

I never had that happen. I have had brown lines on my paperwhite. but never dots
