Kobo Clara HD replacement battery

My wife's Clara HD is 2 years old and gets used around 3 hours per day. Recently its battery life has dropped to around 6 hours of reading. I did a factory reset which helped a little, from 100% to 40% gives around 6 hours reading now but 40% to 0 only gives around 30 minutes. Does anyone know of a supplier for a replacement battery? It seems a waste to trash the reader just for the want of a new battery

You can check amazon or aliexpress for those. The process of changing the battery shouldn't be too hard. If it's too much, then you can ask someone who has a little experience in doing that. It won't cost much

Thanks, I have tried the search, but came up blank for Clara Batteries. There are many listings for other Kobos. The replacement is the easy part

Guess I'll take the old battery out and get its dimensions, then try searching that way

UPDATE: Spoke to early, found a listing on AliExpress, delivery in MAY!!

Continuing from the above. I have found a battery that looks almost identical to the Clara HD both dimension wise and voltage/capacity wise, it is for the Kobo Aura Glo HD H2O. I will install that and see how it goes. If worse comes to worse, then a new Kobo will be needed (which will be the case if nothing is done). If it works, then I may get another couple of years out of the Clara.

I think I'm in the same situation.

My Kobo Clara HD has stopped working (only the LED light switches on when I plug it to a power source, but nothing happens to the screen besides flashing with black and white 2 or 3 times).

I think it might have been due a battery failure (since I just left my Kobo for some months without being charged).

Please let me know if you made the Kobo Aura Glo HD H2O battery work with the Kobo Clara HD. I would be grateful ��

That isn't a sign of a dead battery. These devices will run with dead batteries when plugged in. Or with the battery removed. As the screen is flashing, it is trying to start. I would suggest you try a manual factory reset following the instructions on https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...or-Kobo-Elipsa. But, for step 2, as the device is not booting properly, hold the power button down for about 20 seconds to ensure it is off.

...And I think it's the same battery that fits the Glo HD, the Nook Glowlight Plus (2015), the original PocketBook HD, etc. Also, on another Ali Express ad, they showed this battery fitting the Shine 3, which is basically a Clara HD (hardware-wise).
