editing text file with shine3?

Sometimes, while reading I'd like to write down non-book-related notes to remember (e.c. shopping lists, other books to look for later).

Is there a way to create a cardfile with shine3 to use for such purposes?
Manual ony explains how to leave notes in books being read. Of course I could create a empty book "quast.txt" by computer editor, transfer it to tolino and leave my personal notes in tolinos <notes.txt> while "reading my fake book "quast.txt".

Any öther, better, easier way known here?
